Stations X and Y are connected by two separate, straight, parallel rail lines that are 250 miles long. Train P and train Q simultaneously left Station X and Station Y, respectively, and each train traveled to the other’s point of departure. The two trains passed each other after traveling for 2 hours. When the two trains passed, which train was nearer to its destination?

(1) At the time when the two trains passed, train P had averaged a speed of 70 miles per hour.

(2) Train Q averaged a speed of 55 miles per hour for the entire trip.

A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.

B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.

C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.

D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.

E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

偶选B，因为觉得题目里没有说平均速度啊。

有同意或反对的吗？

应该是A，

B中整个旅程平均速度是55，不代表相遇前的平均速度也是55

偶还是觉得理解应该围绕这个“averaged”，到底是全程还是一段的。。。

“Train Q averaged a speed of 55 miles per hour for the entire trip” 我觉得意思是Q全程都是平均55miles per hour的速度，而A说的“At the time when the two trains passed, train P had averaged a speed of 70 miles per hour”在相遇时是这样的速度才不能保证P以前也是一样的速度。

请指教

相遇是个点，只是瞬时速度。既然这里说相遇是，它已有（注意时态had averaged），说明是相遇前那段时间的平均速度！

嗯，同意A。

如果70是瞬时速度，为什么用动词average？只有平均速度才是average出来的

条件２是整个trip的速度，与这点无关
