语法难题，

b   booker T.Washington being respected

c   booker T.Washington was repected by many

d   many people respected booker T.Washington

我选的是d，但是答案是c，书上的解释说省略不能一致，所以d错，请教高手，能不能演示以下为什么不一致

空格处应该是句子的主谓，a，b选项缺少谓语，排除；

while后面，要么加一个从句，要么用while+doing的省略结构；

用省略的前提是，从句的主语和主句的主语是一致的。

这里holding是谁发出的？是many people吗？不是，应该是T.Washington才是。

也就是while (booker T.Washington was) holding no official or elected position,
