Some people think that human needs for farmland, housing, and industry are more important than saving land for endangered animals. Do you agree or disagree with this point of view? Why or why not? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Due to the increase of population, some people hold the opinion that human needs for farmland, housing and industry are more significant than saving land for endangered animals. On the surface, it may seem a sound idea, but carefully weighing on the mind, I find it is the pretext that human waste land. Indeed we need lots of lands to develop our life, but we can find other useful ways to satisfy our requirement of lands, instead of occupying the land for endangered animals.
Let us start by talking about the solution of housing. In order to help more people have their own room, we can build higher apartment. In China, governments are trying to use this method to solve the problem of housing with the increase of population. In the same area, a 20-floor building can accommodate people two or three times more than a 6-floor building. In fact, housing problem is not because we don't have enough places, but we don't use our lands reasonably. Walking on the roads, we can usually find some low buildings only have several families lived. If governments make the low buildings higher, the more people can have their own room.
Secondly, we can develop our agricultural technology to improve the productivity of existing farmlands and look for some badlands to supply the needs for industry. From the U.N. research, the farmland problem is mostly caused by people don't use the farmlands usefully. Until now, it is undoubtedly that extensive cultivation leads to the decrease of nutriment in the farmland so that farmers have to find new place for farmland. For industry, people only build some workshops for making workers work. For this reason, we can take advantage of badlands to building workshops rather than rob the lands for saving endangered animals. In this way, not only do people solve the problem of useless lands, but also protect the endangered animals.
Last but not least, animals play an important role in our life, especially endangered animals. Earth is beautiful because of the biology variety. Humans, animals, plants constitute the world. Moreover, most endangered animals have long history and people can understand the formation of earth by researching endangered animals.
From what have been discussed above, we can safely draw a conclusion that saving land for endangered animals is as same important as human needs for farmland, housing, and industry. With planning and wise decisions, often both can be accomplished.
