1. B (we cannot conclude whether acidity is the only indicator to the quality of olive oil.


2. From the beginning of second boldface, the argument presents another possible solution to achieve the strategy that could preserve the land successfully, that is, to keep it viable.

only有问题。

另外,个人以为,C其实描述的相当准确。题目中的第一句话讲 The quality of unrefined olive oil is not actually defined in terms of acidity(其实acidity 是判断精油质量的参数),free oleic acid 可以判断unrefined olive oil 的质量,第二句话又说用free oleic acid 也可以判断oil’s acidity.就可以推导出来,free oleic acid 在两个阶段都有媒介作用。

1. 注意第一句的yet, 是反对前面的陈述, 也就是作者认为---The quality of unrefined olive oil should be actually defined in terms of acidity. 这句话应与extensive tests have shown that the less free oleic acid an unrefined olive oil contains per liter, the higher its quality所表达的意思一致. 由此可推出: acidity 就是 free oleic acid 的acidity.


2. The proportion of free oleic acid that an olive oil contains is an accurate measure of the oil’s acidity.


注意accurate. 如果olive oil 还含有其他的acid, 那么The proportion of free oleic acid 就不可能是an accurate measure of the oil’s acidity.


所以, 答案应该是D.

严重支持楼上的观点,17题一定选D。第一话就说了酸性不是唯一的衡量指标(The quality of unrefined olive oil is not actually defined in terms of acidity),只是指标之一(the less free oleic acid an unrefined olive oil contains per liter, the higher its quality)。所以C错。而最后一句(The proportion of free oleic acid that an olive oil contains is an accurate measure of the oil’s acidity)可以很清楚的推出D。

d is irrelevent,cos you can not find,in the whole passage,anything taht metions or implies that this free acid is the only acid....

同意5楼的答案、但是观点有漏洞,可以存在其他acid, 只要那么其他acid 和free oleic 的比例固定就可以,所以要加上第一句,unrefined olive oil 的acidity 从来没有被定义过,即如果有其他ACID,由于比例不知道(没有被定义、分析过、当然不知道其他acid 和free oleic 的比例是否固定)会影响accurate。

既因为如果有其他acid由于这个ACID的比例是多少不知道,影响accurate所以一定没有其他acid

所以, 答案应该是D.
