The speaker states that some of the people consider that the wilderness areas should work for the economic gain while others considering the government should legalize to preserve it. In my point of view, I fundamentally agree with the point that the wilderness areas should be developed for the economic gain to help society’s construction but not keep it in their natural state.
Admittedly, everything has its valuation not except wilderness areas which can make big economic gain for the society and country. Nowadays, government breaks down the old building in which some poor residents living to make room for the new and modern building for the progress of the society. They ignore the whine from the poor residents who seem nowhere to go after taking down their house. Governments only focus on the construction of the society that turn their head and they ignore the valuation of the wilderness areas. In fact, there are large areas of wilderness which can be developed to build commercial building, factories or villas. In short, wilderness areas have big valuation in use which can help develop our societies and countries’ economic gains that would come true if preserve it as its natural state.
In addition, exploiting the wilderness areas can also benefit our environments in some way. In the modern cities, it seems that the dust become more and more in the air and the air pollution index become worse and worse. It is largely because of the factories which release much dust and exhaust gas to the air setting up in the centre of the cities. At this time, the wilderness areas can be used for the factories so the exhaust gas would not harm the residents, and it also benefits the factories for its low rent. Furthermore, the wilderness areas can be developed to a theme park as a tourist attraction for the tourists. And the green plants in the park can also largely clean the air and purify our earth. In the main, the wilderness areas can also work for our environment if we develop it but not state its natural prototype.
However, the protection for the survival of certain species, biodiversity and ecological studies can not be ignored while working for the economic construction and environment. The government should make policy to protect natural species living in the wilderness areas when we make full use of it. Biologic chain which can not be broke is important for the nature. Up until now, uncountable species die on the earth. There is no reason for us not to take our responsibilities to protect the endangered species. So, the important of protecting survival of certain species can not be ignored while the wilderness areas are under construction.
All in all, there is much extra valuation of the wilderness areas that we haven’t found to help develop our societies’ economic. Accordingly, the government should make full use of the wilderness areas to benefit our societies’ economic gain and the environment. Meanwhile, the policy to protect the survival of the species in the wilderness areas also should be made by the government.
