提纲:老师,授课方式不同
学生,天赋、兴趣不同
社会需要各色人才才能正常运转
It is unreasonable for a nation to require all its students to study the same curriculum before entering college. In the first place, students are different and a unified curriculum cannot meet all students’ requirement. Additionally, a excellent teacher will need more freeness to teach in their own way and a wholesome society also need citizens who have different kinds of crafty. Considering these, a more diverse curriculum is better.
From viewpoint of teachers, especially a excellent teacher, it is better to verify curriculum, for a standardized curriculum tends to constrain teachers’ special talents. Standardized curriculum often leave little room for teachers to teach in their own way. A math teacher may think the textbook too boring and prefers using another interesting book to teach his/her students; a biology teacher may even leave these books and choose to let students go outside and learn knowledge of nature creatures. Often, it is such special methods of teaching that stimulate students’ interests thus make them learn better. Obviously, a diversified rather than unified curriculum will be conducive to such special and effective teaching methods.
There is no doubt that all students who are born with different potentials and come from different families are heterogeneous. They learn not in the same way which means diversified curriculum are more likely to meet their kinds of abilities and interests. Granted that all students need to learn some basic curriculum such as mathematics and reading, it does not necessary mean that all curriculum should be unified. Maths, for example, can be learned from teachers, books, online teaching programs and debating with other students. More diversified ways of implanting knowledge should be provided so that students with can make a better choice according to their individual ability and preference thus learn better.
For the whole society, diverse education is quite important. A wholesome society contains different parts and works which need be done by people with different crafty. If all people learn the same in their schools , most of them have the same crafty, so a lot of works will be left undone while other works may be struggled for by excessively large number of people. The society cannot function well in the case. Diverse education however can lead students to learn about various domains of knowledge and recognize their real interests which will do much good for the development of their abilities and students as a result can devote to society better in the future.
Considering these aspects above, it is not rational to make all the students study the same curriculum, whereas a more diverse curriculum will be fit for kinds of students and give much more space for teachers to exert their teaching methods, and a society will function well with various kinds of intellectuals.
