105 Claim: Imagination is a more valuable asset than experience.
Reason: People who lack experience are free to imagine what is possible without the constraints of established habits and attitudes.
Write a response in which you discuss the extent to which you agree or disagree with the claim and the reason on which that claim is based.
(+) 由于生活习惯和阅历的增加，确实会有想象力被制约这样的现实。
（-）但是，说经历的缺少会有助于想象力，这也荒诞的，某种程度上，经历缺失会造成知识空白，恰恰造成我们思想和想象的狭隘。

There is no doubt that deep living experience will have such effect, like what asserted above, to fetter one's imagination. But, still, we have question whether it is a fact that one lack experience will be free to imagine, and even, it deserves suspicion whether there is the more valuable between experience and imagination.
Admittedly, because of mature habit and manners, we have formed thinking pattern, which will leads some limitation to the worthy assets of imagination. Do you remember what appears in the famous fairy story, little prince? When adults all asserted the painting, which was drawn by the author, Antonio, as a little boy, was a hat, only the prince got the real answer, a snake with an elephant in its stomach. The reason is that the Little Antonio and prince share a common point that they hadn't experienced much about the planet, which helps them vision things as what they suppose and what they like. Simillar reasons appear to the issue, maybe. Experienced too much, watched too much, when seeing the blue, the sky will jump into our mind. When referring the cinema, we can always consider it as a fantastic place for lovers. Thus I, too some degree, approve this assertion. But there exists also a question, does this mean one lack of experience will help set up higher imagination ability?
Of course not. There is never sure relationship between them, little experience and great imagination. Actually, sometimes experiencing little will also limit the imagination. For example, to the children who live in village and mountains, never been to cities even never to a town, the possibility is little to imagine how an equipment like computer can relate people in different countries together. Few of them can imagine they could watch the face, listen what the other talking with them simultaneously just from a little machine like TV. It means that lack of experience will lead to the vacant area in our knowledge and mind. For another thing, according to the issue of the speaker, experience will qualify imagination necessarily, we should encourage the scientists to stop learning from experience before, in order to gain the imagination, which is crucial for science and which can be acquire from little experience. Obviously, that is absurd.
Further, even it were right, there were definitely no such a comparison between imagination and experience. Actually, they, as two important factors for contribution in any field, can support each other very well. On the one hand, experience could elevate the platform for imagination. And on the other hand, imagination could also activate experience. For instance, in Kafka's Metamorphosis, the fantastic imagination that transforming a white collar into a big Beatle, is based on Kafka's experience and feeling from normal life, where common people were loosing themselves in fretful lives more and more. Thus, such a comparison is not wise. On the contrary, they should be considered on a same level of significance.
Above all, lack of experience will do provide a more space for imagination, but a better imagination can also come from thinking and questioning the extant live which is considered normal. Improving with the two assets together will always help us on a way more efficiency and fantasy. |
