一道逻辑题~求助

From 1979 to 1989, beverage containers explained a steadily decreasing percentage of the whole weight of household rubbish in America. The increasigly widespread use of recycling aluminum and glass was responsible for most of this decline. However, though aluminum recycling was more widely used in this period than glass recycling, it was found that the weight of glass bottles in household rubbish declined by a larger percentage than the wight of aluminum cans.
Which of the following, if true of the America in the period 1978 to 1988, most helps to account for the finding?
A Glass bottles are significantly heavier than aluminum cans of comparable size.
C Manufacturers replaced many glass bottles,but few aluminum cans, with plastic containers.

题目只是说alumnius cans和glass bottles在回收垃圾里占主导，并没有说cans和bottles是同样的数量减少，这里就是你臆断出来的了。举个例子，alumniums cans减少的比例特别少，而glass bottle减少比例特别大，显然每个瓶子的重量的偏差也不能解释文中的现象。
C选项显然可以解释。。
