题目要求选项能够weaken对考古学家strategy的批评

而这个批评的观点是“forager societies are extremely varied.” 然后说indeed, blah blah blah。。。

B. either dissolved or made a transition to another way of life: 表明了forager的社会是多样的，支持了批评的观点，不选
C. 提到考古学家研究modern-day society，不能weaken批评的观点，不选
D. 考古学家的strategy是研究现在了解过去，如果他们"do not draw inferences about ancient societies on the basis of their studies."那说明他们的stategy没用咯，不选
E. 说modern-day forager societies和ancient forager societies有很大的不同，支持了批评的观点

而A说到了forager societies有很多“features in common”，而这些相同之处又和其他societies有明显的区别。这证明了考古家的研究方法是有效的，所以自然是正确的答案咯。

可以societies of foragers 翻译为游牧社会（逐草而生放牧的那些）。不过其实不影响理解。

原文结论是通过现在无法了解古代
因为：1，F之间非常不同。2，而且，F跟非F有大量的接触。（implied F跟其他社会差不多）

无论是support or weaken，都必须同时mention 现代古代。所以BC不选。

通过研究现代了解古代，那么现代和古代之间必须有共同点。A. thru out history （相当于一直以来，包括现在和古代）的F有大量的共同特征以区别其他社会。两个原因都反驳了

D不能推出，研究方法错 support
E说现代跟古代不一样，所以support原文结论。

其实原文是说，不能因为不同。

A是说，同。（所以能）

是lawyer说的割裂因果。就是从因到果这个推理就错了。

发现逻辑真的不好说得清楚。。。。

请教OG12-45
