谢谢楼上的解释，从全句来看应该是这个解释，但是翻遍字典也没有找到debt的合理解释。还请后面的大牛赐教debt在这里的意思。

artistic debt to...= 受...艺术影响。北欧斯堪的纳维亚半岛（Scandinavia）有辉煌的绘画艺术，是不是说：从William H. Johnson的许多画里可以看出他在艺术上深受斯堪的纳维亚（绘画艺术）的影响呢？
