Parents Are the Best Teachers
As students many teachers have taught us at different schools in different classes since we attended schools. Among these teachers, some taught me math, some taught Chinese, some taught English and some taught geometry etc.
Some of the teachers impressed me deeply in classes such as geometry class, which widened my eyes and made me know the customs and cultures of other countries around the world. Another exemplification is during English class, because I like to learn it very much for the teacher’s fluent oral English. Although the teachers above improved me greatly but the best teachers that enlightened me are my parents.
To start with, my father has great influence on me in many aspects. My preference to English is a good case in point. When I was in a primary school, my father often told me a story about my sister-in-law. She had pretty good English and almost attended college. But her mother died long ago and was very poor. Due to the hard condition, she had to drop out of school and married, which was a huge regret among us. Hence, my father often said that your condition were better than hers, why not cherish your chance to study hard? Why not cherish your chance to have parents to support you? Another case is his influence on me about the Classics. Although father is nearly illiterate, he collected many books like Sishu Wujing, Sanshiliuji, Ershisishi etc. When I was a boy around 7 years old he showed me some books such as Yijing, Sunzi Bingfa, Qimendunjia etc. to recommend me to read these books in the future and sometimes in a spare time he would teach me something about it. These experiences make me interested in reading books.
Then my mother’s influence on me was more about daily living. Nowadays many people don’t eat breakfast, but I eat everyday. Because I believe work without breakfast won’t efficient. This habit was originated of my mother’s guide. When I was in High School, I didn’t have breakfast due to lack of time. But mother told me that insisted on eating breakfast could make you healthy or the stomach might have the risk of catching a cancer. Everyday she told me this when I wanted to leave without breakfast. And gradually no matter how urgent I will more or less have breakfast. Therefore up to now I keep healthy and a regular diet.
Thus, in my point of view parents are the best teacher. They influenced my childhood. They influenced my youth. They influenced my becoming a complete person! |
