X6. The amount of time it takes for most of a worker’s occupational knowledge and skills to become obsolete has been declining because of the introduction of advanced manufacturing technology (AMT). Given the rate at which AMT is currently being introduced in manufacturing, the average worker’s old skills become obsolete and new skills are required within as little as five years.

Which of the following plans, if feasible, would allow a company to prepare most effectively for the rapid obsolescence of skills described above?

(A) The company will develop a program[to offer selected employees the opportunity to receive training six years after they were originally hired.

(B) The company will increase its investment in AMT every year for a period of at least five years.

(C)The company will periodically survey its employees to determine how the introduction of AMT has affected them.

(D Before the introduction of AMT, the company will institute an educational program to inform its employees of the probable consequences of the introduction of AMT.

(E) The company will ensure that it can offer its employees any training necessary for meeting their job requirements.E

13.In Swartkans territory, archaeologists discovered charred bone fragments dating back one million years. Analysis of the fragments, which came from a variety of animals, showed that they had been heated to temperatures no higher than those produced in

experimental campfires made from branches of white stinkwood, the most common tree around Swartkans.

Which of the following, if true, would, together with the information above, provide the best basis for the claim that the charred bone fragments are evidence of the use of fire by early hominids?

(A) The white stinkwood tree is used for building material by the present-day nhabitants of

Swartkans.

(B) Forest fires can heat wood to a range of temperatures  that occur in campfires.

(C) The bone fragments were fitted together by the archaeologists to form the complete skeletons of several animals
(D) Apart from the Swartkans discovery, there is reliable evidence that early hominids used fire as many as 500,000 years ago.

(E) The bone fragments were found in several distinct layers of limestone that contained primitive cutting tools known to have been used by early hominids. E

100. One way to judge the performance of a company is to compare it with other companies. This technique, commonly called benchmarking, permits the manager of a company to discover better industrial practices and can provide a justification for the

adoption of good practices.

Any of the following, if true, is a valid reason for benchmarking the performance of a company against companies with which it is not in competition rather than against competitors EXCEPT:
(A) Comparisons with competitors are most likely to focus on practices that the manager making the comparisons already employs.

(B) Getting inside information about the unique practices of competitors is particularly difficult.

(C) Since companies that compete with each other are likely to have comparable levels of efficiency, only benchmarking against noncompetitors is likely to reveal practices that would aid in beating competitors.

(D) Managers are generally more receptive to new ideas that they find outside their own industry
(E)Much of the success of good companies is due to their adoption of practices that take

advantage of the special circumstances of their products or markets. E

advantage of the special circumstances,不懂逻辑关系啊,亲们~

advantage of the special circumstances,不懂逻辑关系啊,亲们~

E选项说the company will offer its employees any training necessary for meeting the job requirements正好support了这个conclusion,而且是将所有的可能性都涵盖了,只要是new skills且能够避免skills obsolete的skills都可以。

Background:The charred bone fragments dated back 1M years.
Premise: The fragments indicated that it was heated at temperature no higher than those stink wood.
Conclusion:Charred bond fragments are used by earlier hominids.
(A) The white stinkwood tree is used for building material by the present-day nhabitants of Swartkans.

Any of the following, if true, is a valid reason for benchmarking the performance of a company against companies with which it is not in competition rather than against competitors EXCEPT:实际上就是说以下哪个选项是关于against companies with which it is in competition的? not和except~~
问题让你找出一个可以利用这种benchmarking performance to against competitive company的原因,所以我的第一个反应就是要扣主题,either 1 or 2,都可以support。
(E)Much of the success of good companies is due to their adoption of practices that take advantage of the special circumstances of their products or markets.
