我不是nn,只是说说我的看法。

我觉着这里是问的就是strengthen而不是weaken. 题干中提到公司说plastic可以用来做sailboat的hull.接着作者就用了一个反问句：他们以为sailboat的hull原本是用什么材料做的？ 表示否定。最后一句话是结论，对高科技的疯狂很少能走的比这更远的。意思就是，疯子年年有，今年特别疯。表示对这个plastic的否定。因此weaken作者的结论就是支持这个plastic。
