题目:As fossil fuel resources are limited and vital, international aggreements should be adopted to require all of the countries to reduce the dependence on fossil fuels.
According to the newest statistics, the world’s fossil fuel resources are going to be consumed out within seventy years under the consuming rate nowadays. Since fossil fuel resources can be used in every part of human lives such as the car engine motivation, the electric production and the clothing manufacture procedure, the amount of consume will continue to grow and accelerate the current consuming rate.
This phenomenon brings out the concern to the limitation of the fossil fuel resources, and many people suggest that all countries worldwide should focus on reaching an international agreement intending to reduce the dependence on fossil fuel and hence reduce the amount of consume of these vital natural irreproducible resources. But this suggestion also confronted some against opinions citing the evidence of the dependence of human beings on fossil fuel-consume technology, reasoning that human society will be through a great sufferance once these agreements were achieved. This issue is very controversial and complex because it largely depends on the distinct culture background and different self-value. My point of view will be addressed below.
Those who support the sign of agreement among all nations receive the most strong support from the fact of decreasing fossil fuel resources. Iraq has been one of the largest oil-export countries for decades, but even there are suffering the danger of oil short. Last summer I went to this great country for business and when I grabbed a cab to the airport and chatting with the driver, he complained a lot about the rising petroleum price, saying that the price ten years ago was only 5cents per gallon and now it is 10. Because the price compactly connected with the demand and supply, I concluded that the rise of oil price is due to the decreasing amount of oil restore.
On the other hand, those who against have their own reasons. Because once the consumption of fossil fuel are decreased significantly, the modern society would require the rapid reformation of recent technologies such as green power cars, water-produce electric.etc. But this requires huge amounts of investment in the development of these technologies, the amounts that cannot be afforded by the developing countries. And this will enforce these countries to go back to the old fossil fuel burn technologies.
To sum up, since the combination of two side seems to be more persuasive than any single of them, we may safely reach the conclusion that both sides should be considered and the final agreement should be the result of compromise of both two sides and includes all the countries in the world.
