题目虽然是做对了。但是解释部分没有明白~~不知道GMAT出题者对这道题目的思路是什么的，请求达人指点！thx~~~

E 非常完美啊。

本来可以质疑：转向用电的这些工厂将烧煤（暂且算它是煤吧，呵呵）的污染
转嫁到了电厂去了，因为发电也污染。
但是有了E，转向用电而非自己烧煤就有道理多了。

B,A都离踢很远了，凑合凑合虽然也能混过去，
但跟E比起来就太差劲了。

C,D两个选项就明显错误了。

但是这里书上对B是这么解释的：
it does not matter how much fossil fuel was used to manufacture the older techonoogies originally. That has no bearing on whether more fossil fuel would have been expended as a result of the continued operation of the industries if the partial switch to newer techonologies had not occurred.
我就真的不明白了，这个解释什么意思啊？

题目，有些工厂把原来用燃料的产能转化为用电的产能，结论，燃料用得比以前少了。

E 工厂用于产生电能的燃料总量小于用于完成这部分电能匹配的产能的燃料总量。

所以，燃料用得少了。

我想先理解下原文的意思：
一些产业最近至少部分地将用 ff 发动的老技术换成用 e 发动的新技术。这样子的产业运作起来用的 ff 就比继续保留旧技术的产业要少。
问：求strengthen

原文有个flaw，那就是用 e 发动的新技术看上去是用 e ，但 ff 的用途有一种就是拿来发电的，隐藏的意思说，原文没讲清e到底有没有用ff发电，有的话用了多少，如果用了很多，比旧技术还多，那不就彻底地weaken了吗。

B：原文结论中提到的operation of industry，选项讲的是manufacture the machinery employed的比较，这是更换了operation的方式之后的事，并没有针对原文讲的operation的比较，所以无关，不选。

E：eliminate the flaw。
