做数学时未知数的处理原则？（data suffiency）

有些数学题里面含有未知数，像是当已知条件给出的。比如说时间t，就在题目里面出现了。那算出来的答案里面有t，那这算是sufficient 还是insufficient呢？

如果t有确定值，那就sufficient，otherwise insuff

什么确定值？如果没有提到值是多少或者说t是常数，就像一个已知量一样告诉的呢？

133。What is the average (arithmetic mean) height of the n people in a certain group?

[1]The average height of the n/3 tallest people in the group is 6 feet 2 ½ inches, and the average height of the rest of the people in the group is 5 feet 10 inches

[2]The sum of the heights of the n people is 178 feet 9 inches.

这个n算是个常数还是个未知数呢？

啊那就是说所有的字母都当成未知除非题目说了是constant 或者说what is x in the form of y罗？

一般就把不能确定成唯一的值的都当作未知来看吧！
