Last year County C created and filled more manufacturing jobs than it had in prvious years.Given that CountyC has the smallest work force and an unemployment rate equal to that of other counties in the state,the increase in new jobs in CountyC is startling.
Which of the following statement correctly points out the error in the reasoning above?
A. If the state in which CountyC is located lost manufacturing jobs last year,then CountyC’s record number of new jobs is unimportant to the health of the state.
B. The county is judged against its own record,so the comparisons between is wokforce and unemployment rate and those of other counties is irrelevant.
选B。我选的A。因为如果state的制造业空缺少了，集中到C也不奇怪啊。

Most graduate of art schools go on to support themselves with a variety of odd jobs that have little or nothing to do with the graduates’ artistiv training.This has led to major doubts regarding how well the art schools are preparing their students for careers in art.
Which of the following,if true,would most strengthen the author’s criticism of art schools?
A.The purpose of an art school education is to ensure that students will be able to secure jobs in their fields.
B.Students attend art schools with the intention of earning their livings in the art field.

我选的B，答案选A。
我是这样想的，如果入学的学生不是有意与在艺术界发展，那以后他们工作have little or nothing to do with the graduates’ artistiv training 就不能是学校的责任。而A说secure jobs in their fields也没说清楚是哪里的 fields，不能就是说是art吧？

in relation to the first one, we should focus on whether the reasoning can lead to ' increase in new jobs in CountyC is startling' rather than on 'record number of new jobs is unimportant to the health of the state'. i.e. the 'the health of the state' is irrelevent in this circumstance

for the second one, i think u ignore an important phrase in the question 'Which of the following,if true,would most strengthen the author’s criticism of art schools?' .......' author’s criticism of art schools'
what i mean is that this question is about 'how well the art schools are preparing their students for careers in art' and thus there is no need to consider anything from students' perpective.....

just my viewpoint
