Q2:

The ratio of the number of women to the number of men to the number of children in a room is 5:2:7, respectively. What is the total number of people in the room?

(1) The total number of women and children in the room is 12.

(2) There are fewer than 4 men in the room.

Answer is D, why?

if there are fewer than 4 men in the room....and the ratio of women to men is 5:2...so lets suggest there are 3 men, then there are 7.5 women ?!! that doesn't work now does it. when men = 1, women = 2.5 ...being the nice people we are, lets not cut people into halves, and stick with 2 men and 5 women. so there is only one possibility when there are less than 4 men in the room because of the ratio given.
