昨天给董事长(美国人)发了一封请求推荐信的邮件,很快收到如下答复(AA代表我的名字,BB代表我公司的名字):“I would be happy to provide the letter.  lease give me an outline of what you think it should say and I will then put the letter together. AA you are very important to our BB team. If there is anything I can do to help you please let me know. One request…Don’t Leave BB…” 大家说最后这句话到底是想帮还是不想帮?都知道出去读书肯定要离开公司的... 我应该怎么回复比较合适?
My gut feeling is that he is not willing to provide 100% support. If LZ can find another person, skip him.
Maybe you can reply to ask him what position will BB provide after you graduate. Based on his reply, you will have more info to decide whether to stick with him or not.
You shoud read his reply as green light and go ahead provide details to be put in recommendation. Try to be professional and sincere in your reply to him. Focus on your professional development needs and keep the option open (not promise) to return after graduation.
My view is that your director was very supportive and thoughtful. Try to read the email reply from another angle: if he okayed with providing recommendation letter but not mentioning a word about your importance in the team, you shalll be worried.
