It is hard to choose which kind of friends I need. It is obvious that these two kinds of friends can bring us a lot and we cannot leave either of them. A similar friend has the same interest as you and a friend that different from us can help you. Also, always being with one kind of friend is maybe harmful.
First of all, a similar friend has the same interest with you. Teenagers always go out together; adults always create their companies with their friends; old people always play chess or chat in a group. These three examples show that we cannot leave with our similar friend because these friends can make our daily life more wonderful.
Secondly, a friend that different from you can help you. Many people will easily ignore this point on making a friend that is different from you. This kind of friends has the advantages that we do not have, for example, he/she likes math but you do not like. Thus, he/she can help you with the math problems. Also, he/she may deal with the questions that you are not able to work out because much of his/her experience is different from you.
What’s more, always being with one kind of friend is maybe harmful. Then, someone may ask, why that happens? In the first case, you stay with the similar friend. Most part of his/her personality is likely to you, so, you will have the same problem to face to. The result is that you and your friends will all suffer from a hard period till others solve it. In another case, you stay with a different friend. Though he/she can help you, for he/she is almost different from you, he/she will not do many things with you such as traveling and chatting. That will make you feel boring and unhappy.
In a conclusion, a friend similar to us have the same interest with us and a friend different from us can help us, if we have both of these two kinds of friends together, we can have a happy life, if not, we many be unhappy in some part of life. So, I will choose both of these friends.
