刚刚又看了一下原题，根据反证发，偶觉得这两种表达应该是一样的，请看题目：

(C) Nestor has a higher grade point average than Nancy.
(D) Elizabeth and Nancy both have a higher grade point average than James.（C）
(E) Nestor and James both have a higher grade point average than Nancy.

由正确答案是C，得出B选项是错误的。
1. 根据lawyer版主的理解in the top third是第三名，那么根据Nestor is in the top tenth of the same class，Nestor是同一班级里的第十名，推出James的成绩比Nestor高。James > Nestor.

2. 然后根据Elizabeth had the same grade point average as Nestor. Nancy has a lower grade point average than Elizabeth.推出Elizabeth的成绩同Nestor一样，且高于Nancy. Elizabeth = Nestor > Nancy.

结合1和2可以得出，James的成绩高于Nancy. (James > Nancy)即B选项。

因为B选项不是正确答案，所以原理解前提是错误的。

我想問一下，這題為什么說Elizabeth had the same grade point average as Nestor.

為什么要用had？？要是had好像就推不齣答案暸

1. MM好仔細, 我做題時完全沒留意到時態不同欸...我猜可能是因為其他人都是在講應屆畢業生, 只有E是去年前年畢業的吧...

2. 可是我想這並不影響答案, 因為不同屆的學生還是可以比較GPA 啊... (不然b-school幹嘛都要看我們的GPA成績? hehe...)

"in the top third of the class", 我覺得不是前三名, 也不是第三名, 應該是前三分之一, 類似的, "in the top tenth of the class"是前十分之一... 前十分之一的成績當然比前三分之一的好嘍... 答案是沒錯的...

我做题时就在想到底是前三名还是第三名，看了PuddingMM的讲解，自己又查了一下Longman，发现真的是前三分之一的意思，多谢！！

关于had的问题，我想你的理解是正确的，是我自己想太多了
