My undergraduate major was biological science, and I'm going to study master of accounting. I have passed the visa interview. The interviewer didn't ask me about why changing my major and my future plan. But I prepared from 3 aspects based on my biology major, for your reference: 1. Why chose previous major: When I chose my major in 2003, the future career deveoopment was such a broad topic for me that I didn't consider it seriously. So I chose whatever I was interested in at that stage. The result turned out to be a very good one, I graduated with a first-class Honor Bachelor degree, even though I didn't have any background knowledge before I joined the school. 2. Why switch now: But after working for 1.5 years in the laboratory, I found learning biology in the class is very different from working in the laboratory, and I don't like to lock myself up in the laboratory the whole day. I want to expose to more people and practice more personal skills such as communication and leadership. 3. Why current major: The reason I chose accounting is because it's a very useful technique, almost used in every small little transactions in our daily life. And it's also a very crucial part, because the numbers an accountant produces reflect how a business is doing. I want to learn not only the systematic knowledge in this field, but also how to properly apply this knowledge into practice. Hope my answers will give you some hints. You can look back at your own experiences and relations in your family to figure out proper reasons and plans (For me, my father has his own business, and I can help him become more competitive if I learn cutting-edge knowledge from a country with more developed accounting systems). But your plans and reasons have to be practical and in some detail (Try to avoid "With Chinese booming economy" or "China has great potential" They are the truth, but they are not related directly to each of us. These words seem too broad and empty). (I'm now working in my office, cannot type Chinese. Sorry!) |
