A little about myself:

西安电子科技大学    EE    B.S

Duke        GPA: 3.44    ECE Master

GRE: 800(Q)+610(V)

Letters of Recommendation from one Professor in Business school, one in Mechanical Engineering, one in Mathematics.

I applied for 8 Universities and 9 programs. (2 in CMU), up till now:
Offer: U of Maryland
Rejected: U of Chicago, CMU, Penn State
Waitlisted: UC Irvine, UGA, GSU
Received no info from UCLA, and I have decided not to wait for their decision.

From
I learned, UMD gave out two offers and another two are on the waiting
list. I am only on their shortlist which basically means I rank 5th at
best. So I am pretty thrilled to receive this offer. I would like to
thank those who made their decision in such a timely fashion without
which I will never be able to enjoy the exciting moment at this time.

I
guess I have no regret to end my application process as such and begin
to prepare for my PhD study. Due to my background, I think there are
awful lot for me to learn about MIS.

But MIS job market is not necessarily better than ECE...

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Engineering. Engineers are cool.

However, frankly, I think myself as a lousy Engineer, and I guess I will have no compelling future if I stick to it without ever thinking about what fits me. But still, I like IT, that's why I chose MIS.
