请教, 在美国这样的组合对找到工作是否有所保障?

SAP consultant is a very good position that will pay u 100$-150$/hr depends on your experience. With 10 years, I think you shall get at least 115$/hr. Not sure how MBA will help? Wondering as well.

BTW, Green Card will also be a consideration, some positions require that.

MBA+CMA will be where my next two years' interests reside...

Oracle EBS Consultant is also a very good position. You could get around 130k/yr + $$$ with 10 yrs experience.  If you become a manager, you could get 180k-200k/yr.

10 years IT consulting from what company and area ?

If you still want to stay in IT, I don't see how a MBA will help you.  Technical job is technical job...

MBA will not help IT job hunting at all unless the target position is CTO, parterner or something alike. Many IT genious are lazy and crazy ppls called geeks. In general their life style is to be pissed off by a "Hard working" educated good ppl. ;)

Communication will be a major issue that MBA education will help I think, and Management knowledge and skill may help to negotiate better deal in the future, so that already worth the investment. Like Jerry Yang, he know the true worth of yahoo and was not cheated out at the begining.

What I am planning is

1. enter into field of strategic consulting -- solve managerial and strategic problems for enterprises -- get the rich experiences

2. and then, enter into enterprises to be a relative senior manager

But from this forum, I learned that it is quite difficult to enter into field of strategic consulting after MBA. Anyway, this is a direction I am planning and plan to do my best.

I know some guys who move to strategic consulting from IT, they could find such positions in China. I  heard the entry for such positions in the states is quite difficult for Chinese IT guys. Yeah, I also think it may be hard but it is possible ;) It is maybe the best thing I learned in the states.

My plan is to become an individual IT consultant (the rate will be up 50%-100%percent, but that need communication and networking skills). I am kind of headache about how to explain "Why MBA". ;)

My education background is quite poor compared to CD's NNs. Anyway, just do it.
