when 1,000 children were inoculated with a certain vaccine, some
developed inflammation at the site of the inoculation and some
developed fever. How many of the children developed inflammation but
not fever ?

(1) 880 children developed neither inflammation nor fever

(2) 20 children developed fever.

我选的E，key C

想问some

developed fever的意思就是没有既 inflammation又fever的，是吗？

要是没理解错的话，好像应该是有些孩子可能会developed inflammation ，有些孩子可能会developed fever

C 两个条件放在一起就可以求出来啦，所求=(1000-880)-20

楼主可以画个文氏图就可以明白啦^^

就是说一个孩子要不inflammation，要不fever，要不全没有，就是没有inflammation还fever的，是吧？
所以如果GMAT不提到说有交集的可能，就是默认没有交集，是这样的吗？

不是的，是包括有inflammation还fever。。。

lz是不是对于（2）条件不明白呀？其实是这样的，就是20个发烧的孩子中，已经包括了有inflammation还fever交集呢。。。
