这道题的答案是c，其实我认为c不是绝对的平行，b才是绝对的平行，

主语是
            immigrants exhibit rates exceeding other immigrants  （exhibit rates）

但是选c是正确的，从意思来讲，those of other immigrants，大家都可以理解是rates of immigrants，前面比较的对象也是  rates of Mideast immigrants，虽然C中的主语是
            immigrants

这就使ets的陷阱，不是绝对的平行概念，只是从意思判断，死钻牛角尖，死套平行，就会错。

因为exceed后面不能跟句子，只能跟名词

the things before and after "exceeding" must be two nouns

but at some time, i mistook exceed as than or other things
