There are times when lying is acceptable.

Since we were only young children,our parents had been telling us that we should never tell lies.It is true that honesty is a most important quality we need to have in order to be successful.But there are exceptions when lying is acceptable.In these situations,we tell lies for the good of other people,because we love them and care for them.These lies are what we call “white lies”.

When we were young children,our parents used to tell us that if we didn’t work hard,we would be eaten by the wolf.This is obviously a lie,but it frightened us to death,so we worked hard and thus became a better student.Our parents told us lies because they love us,and they want to help us.In order to find a good way to remind us to behave ourselves,they produce the lies to act as a reminder.In this case,their lies are what we should be thankful to.

As we grow up,we’ll attend balls and parties.But not everyone of us is pretty or handsome enough to attract others.Sometimes we may look really awful as a result of an accident or a mistake in making up.Perhaps at these times,our friends will tell us that we are gorgeous.In this way,we will feel good and enjoy ourselves very much.Our friends tell us lies because they care for us,and they don’t want to hurt our feelings.There care and friendship are something that we should always cherish.

If we are seriously ill or maybe we will die soon,our relatives may not tell us the truth.They are afraid that once they tell us our true situation,we will be desperate and die even sooner.They want us to be hopeful and brave to fight against the disease.They use words of encouragement rather than dreadful facts;they wear smiles on their faces rather than tears.Their way of helping us is also a way of love.

In conclusion,we need to tell lies in some when it is necessary.Lies are sometimes helpful,because it helps us to conceal the facts that may appear to be harmful to others.
