Therefore, those who create popular entertainment should continue to incorporate violence into their products. my ideas: While many people focus only on commercial success of portrayals of violences in both mass media and other popular entertainment forms, disregarding the unexpected side-effects and detrimental results of excessive portrayals of violences, I maintain that the arguer oversimplified the issue and might prove harmful and ineffective. In the first place, portrayals of violence might be detrimental for those juvenile to whom the violence scenes are exposed. Juvenile delinquency largely caused by the lack of moral instruction for youngsters has become a serious threat to the social stability and security in tremendous amount of countries. Juvenile crime rate is increasing worldwide mainly due to the increase of excessive portrayals of violence scenes in films, dramas, in which those juvenile have been told how to abuse violence, how to solve problems by violating others' personal interests even lives. For instance....... In the second place, it is likewise possible that excessive portrayals of violence could have a significant influence on the adults. With the broadening of the gap between rich and poor worldwide caused by globolization and information technology, more and more people, especially those striving for their life to survive every single day in the fierce competition in their workplace, keeping their head above water in their intricate family life, may get more and more difficulties to handle pressure as well as stress. In this way, exposing too often to the portrayrals of violence, these people might consider violence as an emotion and pressure outlet, which would lead them to no where but despair, more seriously, prison. For instance, the increase of family violence rate is raising all the way since last decade.... Admittedly, portrayals of violence, as a method to increase commercial gain, could not be eliminated in out present-day commercial-oriented society. However, we could do something such as censorship of programs and movies, preventing people from exposing to excessive extreme portrayals of violences. Moreover, we would have to guard against biased ideological or religious indoctrination in the disguse of moral education versus slight violence portrayals. In conclusion, I do not agree that......, As far as I am concerned, the pitfalls of this oversimplification outweigh its potential advantages. A virtual commercial success should take into account not only the financial factor but also the social effect. |
