The first point I would like to mention is that tests are tools to test how the students learn, and the scores can reflect the learner’s ability. Through the tests, especially the mistakes we have made,  we will discover the weaknesses in our study. If these mistakes can be taken seriously by us, definitely we will never make same wrongs. Obviously, a summarization after exam can get us great progression.

In addition, almost every student pursues for a better score in study. Once the student gets a mark that is not good, he will try his best to make progression.According to a survey conducted by a group of leading authorities, 63 percent of the students who have failed in the last exam will seize a second opportunity and get a much higher score .On the other side , those students who always do well in exams never want to fail, so they spare no efforts to make their scores higher and higher.

Last but not least, the tests are actually a competetion for the students. In our society, a lot of opportunities are only given to the persons who get a high score in exams. This result in a fierce competetion for the students. I hold a opinion that it is good for the students, because this kind of competetion is positive. I believe that under apt pression students could learn better.  

 All that I have outlined boils down to the conclusion that grades encourage students to learn.Though some people argue that purchase for higher scores lays too much stress on students,I still think the effect of grades is positive.
