Most states require 150 semester-based credits, a bachelor degree, and 24 accounting credits. I suggest you submit your transcript to one of the evalution agencies designated by your state board of accountancy. If you only have a bachelor degree in China, it will hardly give you 150 credits. The fastest and least expensive way to catch up accounting credits it probably through local community college. For example, in California, people with H1B visa pay in-state tuition. Another possibility is the HR Block tax class. It is a 10 weeks class, costing only $200+. But make sure you ask them if the credits can help you meet the education requirement in your state. I am pretty sure the credits can be counted as CPE credits.
CICPA might not help you to take the exam. But you might directly ask your state of board of accountancy if they can issue you a license directly without taking CPA exam.
Only with CICPA they will issue license without AICPA test? I wonder they will not do so.
Do you have good suggestion? I am just a bachelor and majored in accounting in China and now stay in U.S. without studying or working here. But I wanto take this test within half of year.
