[求助][讨论]How to break into I-bank?

Dowjones back up to 10k pts

US's 3rd quarter GDP finally is positive.

though economist claims recession is over, US's unemployment rate's gonna hit 10% probably in the first quarter of 2010 predicted by a professional group.

By the end of the year, it'll lower down to 9.5% fortunately.

However, i had a research on US's job market  unemployment rate from 1920-2008.

it stays arround 5% for the most of the time, even in 2008

in about 1940 there was a recession, unemployment rate raised up to 20%, which was creepy....i'm glad i was not part of it.

hmm probably, for whom like me interested in I-bank for the 2010 job market in US won't benefit from the recovery.

any suggestions?

BBS? QQ group? or websites?

Senior FALL semester is passing away, not a lot of time left for warming up before we were forced to get ticket back home without any expereince after spent such sh*t amount of tuition.

My background

Working experience: few parttime jobs, 1 credit rate summer intern.

Eduacation: top 100 univ. Undergraduate, BSBA in Finance

(I knew I'm not NIU XIAO, and I know it's gonna hurt my chance, so please save your word)

GPA: gonna back to 3.3 soon

Language skills: Fluent Mandarin, Fluent English; Basic Spanish

Multiculture exp.

current plan: work for 2-3 yrs, back to get a FE or MBA in NIU XIAO, upgraded my background.

first step: get into a boutique and work as a Financial Analyst hopefully. Knew a little bout what ibank does. I've talked to a previous I-banker and CFA, he told me I can work any field in sellside. And what I need to do NOW is get my GPA back to 3.3.

wondering: how should I break into that?

As I said, 10% unemployment rate, and US's financial aid to firms against employ F-1 student are not good news.

I know I should talk to recruiters, but how can I start that? from?

email resume's not gonna work the best way, they'll throw it away, and we'll wait for long and did nonsence.

Need your suggestions

Thanks a million!

[I'm dealing with US job market, so back to my motherland is my last option, and I wont bother with that at this moment]

I've been thinking through,

I felt less respect several times while studying in US.

So I'll have to force myself to upgrade my social class, as a Finance major, my first step is get my feet into the i-bank.

And I'll put me in a "HAVE TO" situation, then so be it.

大学本科生,还不是啥牛校,想啥ibanking, 目前的环境下找份工作先说,特别是大公司的工作。学校牌子不响,再去找啥boutique,以后转行也好申请mba也好,太吃亏了。

谢谢您的宝贵意见先.

当初来美国是脑子发热,觉得闷在国内的二流学校不如来读美国的top100;事实证明做到了,但是也是赶了时间只申请了一所;

有好的GPA的时候没有考虑到转去名校的重要性;之后也没有考虑到GPA低影响career的重要性;
