Progress has brought us various benefits and useful things, such as TV sets, automobiles, computers, cell phones, the Internet, which make our life colorful and more convenient. Some people may think the progress is always good, but I have doubt about this point. Let us take a close look at what progress have given to us these years.

Automobile, for example, is what the progress had brought to us, a symbol of modern society and freedom. Surely, it does give us much convenience. We can use it to go anywhere at anytime, saving much time of ourselves. But who is going to account for the air and noise pollution the automobile made; the more and more congested world it gave to us, the less resources of gasoline remained in the world, and the casualties it caused every year.

Computer and the Internet were born together with the Information Technology. They also provide us lots of boons. We use them to complete our works, communicate with our friends, and also make some entertainments. It is because of them that our globe became a small village. As the slogan goes, "You are infinite with you wireless Internet". But did someone ever concern about the end of trash computer, used computer that is totally out-dated, probably no one. When you take a look at this you will be thrilled, maybe. An ever-growing mountain made of trash computers, and this mountain is hard to dissolve because its material---plastic.

In short, progress is a double-side sword, not always good. Every one in the world should care about what the progress had really brought to us, both boon and bane, especially the planners and scientists. We human need to live harmoniously and peacefully with the environment, and concern about our next generations. Else the nature will revenge human someday.
