Need help with school pushing me for a decision

I just got an unofficlal offer from Uconn for Finance PhD. The school ask me to respond before next Tuesday in order to give me the official offer. The finance department in University of Pittsburgh also promised me an offer. However since their program doesn't have priority of recruiting this year, they will have to wait to at least next Wednsday to see if they can obtain any spots. So my question is what should I do? UPittsburgh told me it will give me an offer a month ago and yet it still can't decide whether it will get the spot or not a month later. Should I accept the unofficial offer from Uconn first? Any suggestions would be grealy appreciated.

man, this is really tough to decide. well, if i were you then i would say yes to uconn and wait for upitt. the thing is you are making decision on the information you have. so you can always argue, right? you are not cheating and they have no authority to push you make decision before apr 15!! think that helps.

thank you so much, that's what I am thinking now. Just afraid that by doing this I will give myself a bad name.

My suggestion is don't do this. I vote for choosing UConn and rejecting UPittsburgh.
