In the annual global MBA rankings that the Financial Times releases today, the School(HKUST) is not listed. We learned about this from the staff at the paper a couple of days ago and contacted them for more details. They revealed that our absence from the rankings was because there were not enough alumni responses to the alumni survey. To be included in the ranking requires 20 responses; out of the 38 alumni of the class that was surveyed, 13 responded. The School will consider additional measures to garner alumni's support in events like this in the future. With more alumni participation, the Financial Times expects us to get back on the chart in the next round of the rankings. There were 40 surveyed schools who did not have sufficient alumni responses to be included in this year's Financial Times MBA survey. 10 of those 40 were last year ranked like us in the top 100. Our FT MBA ranking last year was 47 and this year's EIU (Economist Intelligence Unit) ranking is 37.
