GPA=2.3, don't even apply?

Yes my GPA is pathetic, but too bad I can't change it. I did my engineering degree in a top 10 school in the U.S. I graduated about a year ago and making around $70K U.S. now; so I guess there's no point in applying to second tier schools since the starting salary would be close to what I make in a year or two? Has anyone with such low GPA got into good schools? Should I even try to apply? Thanks for any feedback.

I had a part time job and I simply didn't care too much about my GPA because at the time I never thought I need to go back to school again. My GPA was a little better towards the end but not much. The engineering progam was very challenging, class midterm and final average were always around 45%-50% and they always bell curve a little. Professors at my school are really trying to screw people up.

I don't know if those are good reasons. For one, I doubt professors at your school or elsewhere are/were trying to screw the students. Also, top 10 programs are supposed to be challenging. Saying that just sounds whiny.

Of course it's not a good reason. Nobody is going to say that in the application.

you only have one year working experience? I would say that you work for a few more years and have a great story to tell about your young career. Maybe some schools will look for a turn-around story in you.
