一道逻辑题很困惑求指点

It is hard for students to get good grades in school.But the hardest problem met by students' parents is that the students do not want to get good grades,and even an eight-year-old child could take examples of ''successful without good grades''people such as Steve Jobs and Bill Gates to explain his bad grades.To improve students' academic performance,education professor Roland Fryer decides to let students get paid on the basis of metrics such as attendance,behavior,tests and class work.

Which of the following,if true,most seriously weakens the Roland Fryer's conclusion above?
(A)Students will be more interested to be paid on attendance and behavior than to be paid on tests and class work.
(B)Incentivizing students with money can make students give up their free time and invest more time to school work.
(C)Students who get paid from their parents may spend the payment on smoking and drinking.
(D)Not all parents want their children to get good grades in school tests.

答案是(C)Students who get paid from their parents may spend the payment on smoking and drinking.

对于这个答案接受不能啊，题目里并没有说把钱花在抽烟喝酒上就会影响academic performance啊，如何得知C选项就会weaken这个方案呢？

我觉得如果只是这些选项的话 C 是最好的你觉得应该选什么？

这道题是一个方案推理题（HELR的逻辑书里有写）
目标是: improve academic performance
方案是：students should be paid on BLABLABLA
方案推理的题目要考虑三点
1、方案本身可不可行
2、方案到底能不能达成目标
3、方案有没有副作用
这道题的C选项就是通过方案有副作用（学生赚到钱以后会买烟买酒）来weaken

我补充一下GWD方法这道题的思路：
题干的核心信息是“paid on the basis of metrics”会对学生产生什么效果，讨论的主体必须是“学生”。
A. 讨论的是学生，但是讨论的是student对什么更感兴趣，无关
B.讨论的是学生且有效果，留着。
C. 讨论的也是学生也有效果，留着。
D. 讨论的是家长怎么想，我们讨论的是“对学生”的效果，无关。
E. 讨论的不是学生＆是不是Best incentive，无关。
如果出现两个“相关的”选项，必然一个正相关，一个负相关：C是负效果，B是正效果。
选C.

A为什么不对啊求指教
这个方案是想improve students' academic performance 所以给学生钱激励他们
如果学生只在attendance 和 behavior 这两个维度上面被激励到了
就不会improve their academic performance啊

再说了 smoking 和 drinking 和他们的academic performance有什么关系啊
