关于romeo的竟折腰题给fhjjj斑竹的话!
A mail order company recently had a big jump in clothing sales after hiring a copywriter and a graphic artist to give its clothing catalog a magazine-like format designed to appeal to a more upscale clientle.The company is now planing to launch a housewares catalog using the same concept. The company's plan assumes that a)other housewares catalogs with magazinelike formats do not already exist b)an upscale clientelte would be interested in a housewares catalog c)the same copywriter and graphic artist could be employed for both the clothing and housewares catalogs d)a magazinelike format requires a copywriter and a graphic artist e)customers to whom the old clothing catalog appealed would continue to make purchases from catalogs with the new format
premise:magazine-like format designed increased the sale of the clothing--> conclusion:housewares catalog using the same concept also can do so.
要使这个argument成立,必须给出conslusion成立的evidence,如B,an upscale clientelte would be interested in a housewares catalog,尽管如fhjjj斑竹说的showing interest doesn't equal to buying the goods, 但是这也是evidence,也是更优答案,而且大家应该注意到:appeal 和 interested in的对应关系;并且B还解决了fhjjj斑竹所说的after that, then because of that 的错误,说明a magazinelike format 确实能够appeal consumers;
再看D,只是说了argument中一个主体的必要条件,虽然还有个required,但它只是a magazinelike format 的必要条件,而不是argument本身的;因此我认为选D的错误是混淆了整体和部分的必要条件;
总上所述,我认为B才是正确答案!
