(A) If Hong Kong fails to stay prosperous, it will no longer remain part of mainland China.
(B) If Hong Kong retains its capitalist ways until 1997, it will be allowed to do so afterward.

你给出的题干不正确，应该是：

这是一个循环论证，只要任何一个条件成立，所有结论都成立。
Capitalist Hong Kong will be useful => Hong Kong can retain its capitalist
Hong Kong is prosperous => capitalist Hong Kong will be useful
Hong Kong can retain its capitalist ways => Hong Kong will remain prosperous

同意斑竹的推理!
但我觉得B不对,因为B中有一个非常明显的时间关系:until 1997!
而原文中给的是after 1997后的时间段!until1997可以看成是无关!

我更觉得应该选A,A是一个逆否命题,这类推导归纳类型的题目,CR中ETS更倾向于逆否命题!但我有点犹豫的就是A中后半句话的表达,不知道能否理解成为
a capitalist Hong Kong will be not useful to China!
如果是这样理解的话,那A答案就应该是完美的!

应该是B，按照新的题干：Hong Kong will remain prosperous as long as it retains its capitalist ways.B答案说Hong Kong retains its capitalist ways until 1997，就说明到1997，它是remain prosperous的，又根据题干a capitalist Hong Kong will be useful to China as long as Hong Kong is prosperous，就说明到1997回归的时候， Hong Kong是 useful to China 的，最后就很明显了，只要是 useful to China 的，Hong Kong can retain its capitalist ways after it becomes part of mainland China in 1997 ，所以B后半句it will be allowed to do so afterward就成立了
