我出国合适吗

我目前在上海的一家基金公司担任基金经理，年薪税后30万，在证券行业10年，由于目前市场竞争压力趋大，来自于国内和国外同行的压力越来越大，我觉得自己需要停下来修正一下，沉淀一下，提升一下，因此萌发了想道美国读TOP10 B_school.如果有机会在国外的投资机构工作两年,然后再回国.

但是考虑到我目前已经33岁了,不知道我现在放弃目前的一切去赌不可确定的未来是否值得.请各位帮我出出注意?

做一件事情值得不值得，不是别人说了算的。

同样的东西，比如100万，在这个人眼里不算什么，在那个人眼里是个很大的考虑；

自己考虑清楚了，就算为了出国而出国，也是自己的决定，以后别后悔就好。

I support you to go to top 10. But you need to be confident about your English and interpersonal skills if you want to work in US for two years. Otherwise, you may also find a decent job in HK/Shanghai 2 years later if China become more and more open in investment manangement. I don't see any experience in China is too good to prevent you from losing it. CNY300K is not a big amount and may be only a portion of your annual bonus in the future. Even if your 1st job after graduation is not that great, the impact on your personal/professional life is invaluable.

I am in the somewhat same situation with you. I am also working in China's stock market and have the nearly same pay. What prompts me to study abroad is that I cannot see the more promising future now. If I keep in this condition for long, the chance to promotion is slim, but if I change to another job, I can hardly find a better one. So I make up my mind to take Gmat and get a top MBA degree. I hope in this way, I can step out of my present dilema.

So, just do it.

Going abroad for MBA will probably be the biggest investment and change you will make thus far in your life. So please do more research and analysis before you make decision.

Think about what you will need to invest: $120+K cost of study and living, two years, 30Wx2 rmb opportunity cost, apart from your friends and network in China. Not sure you're single or married, how's your family plan? If you get in school next year, you will be 36 when you graduate, not a good age to start everything in U.S. from scratch.

Have you thought about those top part-time or EMBA in China? They might be good option for you as well.

Just a reminder, the investment management in USA is very hard to get in. Also, when the person gets older, the investment bank may have been closed since the heavy workload demands a younger professional.

BTW, think of your English communication skills, not only written, but also spoken. Working in Chinese fund management company may or may not entail the same career in USA. Depends on ability, luck, and many other factors.

Disclaim: After I get my MBA, I will be around the same age as LZ's current age, that is why I need to think carefully about my career optioins. Plus, I am already in US Asset Management area.

要是我啊，死都不辞职去美国读MBA，这东西很虚的，很多WALL STREET上的老大都没有MBA，我也没见哪个因此丢了饭碗的。

你这种职业，入口狭小，出去后，再进来就没那么容易了。

除非你觉得自己混不下去，老板天天威胁要抄你鱿鱼，不然的话，去美国，哪怕是TOP 10，你也可能会后悔

why is the investment management in US very hard to get in? Do you mean the assets management division in IB or mutual fund, etc?
