Thx!!

you started as a biology major, and you went for a phd, and then you went for an master, then you are changing your career focus.

If i were the adcom, i would ask you: "will you change your mind again in two years?" Be well prepared for this question!!

How many years of working experience will you have before you apply? Business schools do care alot of your working experience. they wanna see your career development, and htey also wanna see how well you get along with the others, more importantly, they wanna see if you have leader potential. You dont have to have a long working history, but you need to have enough to demonstrate your skill and your potential.

my two cents, good luck.

Before I came to US, I worked in China for 3 years, 2 years as research assistant in a Bio-related lab and 1 year as sales.  Honestly, I do hope a MBA degree can be a career switcher for me.   During all kinds of events CSSA held, I can find enough examples to demonstrate my leader potential and to show admission committee how I can get along well with the others. My concern is if adcom would give equal attention to those extracurricular activities compared with real working experience. How do you think about this? I appreciate any comments from you.

In my opinion, extracurrical activities won't be paid equivalent attention compared with working experience.working experience is something the admission committee more concerned . But if you are very strong applicant who has not graduated from university ,your extracurrical activities will be take into accuant more seriously.

But I think you have 3 three years w/e from which you can pick out of somthing which can make you more outstanding.Such as leader potential ,communication skills,or etc.So it does not the really matter but to make you unique and oustanding through your essay .
