Hi Cheeyong and other yale guru, Just read cheeyong's post saying that yale will take a quick look at application and decide the interview invitation. Could you please share your insights or thoughts that what yale is looking for in this quick review? Leadership? Accountability? Really appreciate your kindly help and early happy chinese new year!

哎我交了都快一个月了，还没收到 YALE的INTERVIEW INVITATION，也没说拒我。写信去问回复的倒是很快

Thank you for your note.  Admissions interviews are held by invitation only.  If you would like to be considered for an interview, you must first submit your application and all the supplementary materials.  The Admissions Committee will contact you directly if an interview is necessary once they begin the review of your application.  However, they will not begin the review of your application until we have all the supplementary materials.  The Admissions Committee can request an interview from the time you submit your application until you have receive your final decision.  lease note that an interview is not a mandatory aspect of the application process.

We are trying to place supplementary materials in the candidate’s application as quickly as possible.

I think Yale will consider the strength of your application package. For Chinese applicants, your hard background such as undergraduate college, GPA and GMAT are very important. In addition, your past experience should arouse Yale's interest in you. If the Adcom regards you as a strong applicant, you will be invited for an interview.

I do not know why Yale does not send out interview invitations after careful readings.
