GMAT SC "and"的用法

求问大神啊啊啊啊啊啊啊
我记得Ron神讲过用and链接两部分代表这两部分independent，那下面这道题的正确选项E，既然release water是因为heads burst，代表它们有联系且在一个timeframe里，那为什么burst和release可以用and连接呢？
As a result of record low temperatures, the water pipes on the third floor froze, which caused the heads of the sprinkler system to burst, which released torrents of water into offices on the second floor.
A. which caused the heads of the sprinkler system to burst, which released torrents of water
B. which caused the heads of the sprinkler system to burst and which released torrents of water

burst的主语是heads,release 的主语是谁？也是heads.难道是water pines on the third floor? 三楼的水隔着地板流到二楼。应该是二楼的水管的水流到二楼。

just figure out what is the subject of the verb.this matters. in the end, in the high level SC, the logical structure is the most important factor that could help you solve the problem.---ron
