8.22 北美 Q49 V40 TOTAL 730
AA: 62、The following appeared in the letters-to-the-editor section of a local newspaper.“Muscle Monthly, a fitness magazine that regularly features pictures of bodybuilders using state-of-the-art exercise machines, frequently sells out, according to the owner of Skyview Newsstand. To help maximize fitness levels in our town's residents, we should, therefore, equip our new community fitness center with such machines.”
AI: 2、“It is unrealistic to expect individual nations to make, independently, the sacrifices necessary to conserve energy. International leadership and worldwide cooperation are essential if we expect to protect the world’s energy resources for future generations.”
我选了A。
A significant number of Qualitex Corporation’s department heads are due to retire this year. The number of employees other than current department heads who could take on the position of department head is equal to only about half of the expected vacancies. Oualitex is not going to hire department heads from outside the company, have current department heads take over more than one department or reduce the number of its department, so some departments will be without department heads next year, since Qualitex ______. 我选的E, will not offer additional incentives to persuade the retirement age department heads to postpone their retirement.
Which of the following most logically completes the argument?
A significant number of Qualitex Corporation’s department heads are due to retire this year. The number of employees other than current department heads who could take on the position of department head is equal to only about half of the expected vacancies. Oualitex is not going to hire department heads from outside the company or have current department heads take over more than one department, so some departments will be without department heads next year unless Qualitex ______.
- promotes some current department heads to higher-level managerial positions
- raises the salary for department heads
- reduces the number of new employees it hires next year
- reduces the average number of employees per department
- reduces the number of its departments
2. support
3. 天山7-11: In 1992 outlaw fishing boats began illegally harvesting lobsters from the territorial waters of the country of Belukia. Soon after, the annual tonnage of lobster legally harvested in Belukian waters began declining; in 1996, despite there being no reduction in the level of legal lobster fishing activity, the local catch was 9,000 tons below pre-1992 levels. It is therefore highly likely that the outlaw fishing boats harvested about 9,000 tons of lobster illegally that year. Which of the following is an assumption on which the argument depends? A. The illegal lobster harvesting was not so extensive that the population of catchable lobsters in Belukia’s territorial waters had sharply declined by 1996. B. The average annual lobster catch, in tons, of an outlaw fishing boat has increased steadily since 1992. C. Outlaw fishing boats do not, as a group, harvest more lobsters than do licensed lobster-fishing boats. D. The annual legal lobster harvest in Belukia in 1996 was not significantly less than 9,000 tons. E. A significant proportion of Belukia’s operators of licensed lobster-fishing boats went out of business between 1992 and 1996.
4. GWD 13-28:
Fossils of the arm of a sloth found in Puerto Rico in 1991, and dated at 34 million years old, made it the earliest known mammal of the Greater Antilles islands.
- sloth found in Puerto Rico in 1991, and dated at 34 million years old, made it the earliest known mammal of
- sloth, that they found in Puerto Rico in 1991, has been dated at 34 million years old, thus making it the earliest mammal known on
- sloth that was found in Puerto Rico in 1991, was dated at 34 million years old, making this the earliest known mammal of
- sloth, found in Puerto Rico in 1991, have been dated at 34 million years old, making the sloth the earliest known mammal on
- sloth which, found in Puerto Rico in 1991, was dated at 34 million years old, made the sloth the earliest known mammal of
总之是关于reduce working hours, increase real wages and thus, increase productivity的。
