Hey there!
Grat to hear from you! You ask a lot of good questions that are very relevant to many other visitors on this site, so allow me to answer them!
1. Many people do an MBA to expand their network and knowledge. these are in fact the main reasons to do that.
2.Everyone is concerned about the expense! But if you get into a good program, you will see that post-MBA salaries are very high, and that it is almost universally worth it to go. So yes, the expense is great, and yes, you should only go if it is worth it.
3. It depends on you and your GMAT score really. You will have enough time to apply in R2 if you get a good GMAT on the first go. If your GMAT is too low, you might be better off waiting until next year, though.
4. Yes! Do NOT under any circumstances quit your job to do your application. Not having a job when you apply is the WORST thing you can do. If you don’t have enough time because of work, maybe you can take an extended leave of one month and then return?
As for your evaluation, I don’t have nearly enough information about you to tell you anything concrete. I mean, I’d love to help you out but without more info it’s gonna be hard. Where do you work? What do you do? How quickly have you advanced? Do you have any leadership? What are your great achievements? Do you have notable community service or extra curriculars? Which school did you graduate from?
All of these will play important roles in your evaluation.
So feel free to send me more info, and I will be glad to help out,
Best,
Jon Frank |
