I will give you the same advice I gave my own son many years ago.  Go to work for an accounting firm, telling them you want to be on a number of small and medium sized accounts, not full-time on just one large client.  Get exposure to a number of different companies, management, business models and other characteristics.  You then may want to go to get an MBA, and go into consulting after that, with your strong accounting background.  Or you could go to work for one of the companies you have met during your audit experience.

I understand your feeling 'bored' because we all do, at times.  You have to look at it as part of the price you pay for growing up and gaining the experience you need to move ahead.  I have never heard of anyone who did not feel bored or trapped in their firs or even second entry-level job.  It is inevitable, unless your father or uncle owns a large company, and in that case you are starting in the middle, not at the bottom.  Otherwise you, like almost everyone else, has to start at the bottom and the bottom in most jobs is boring.

What most people tend to forget, however, is that you can still learn doing the most boring work.  Why were you assigned this task?  What will it accomplish?  How will what you are doing help the company or firm?  Is there a better and easier way to do the task(s)?  How can I convince my boss and/or the company to let me try it my way if I can get the same results with less effort?

I guess what I am saying, and it is based on my own experience, you can always learn something no matter the task.  Just recognize, in advance, that what appears boring or mind-numbing is being done for a reason.  It is up to you to discover that reason and then try to improve it.

I am sorry to be so philosophical but I can't help repeating something I heard when I was at your stage in my career.  "You can not complain about any assignment until you are doing it not only as well as you can but better than anyone else has ever done it."  At that point it is fair to go to your boss, tell him or her what you have done, and ask for a more challenging assignment.  eople who ask for more and different work are very few and far between, and your boss will really appreciate your ambition.

I have helped many people in career planning over the years.  I enjoy it and it is part of giving back what I have been very fortunate to have received.  So, please continue to contact me if you wish.  I really do mean it.  You are not imposing, and frankly I respect your willingness to ask for advice.  As you may know, a lot of people don't ask for advice when they should!

在国内的话,进accounting firm并不能“Get exposure to a number of different companies, management, business models and other characteristics.
