EMBA experience / comments / thoughts ?

Hi,

Is there anyone out there has experience with US EMBA programs?  If so, would you care to share some insights?  Also, anybody else who knows directly or indirectly of anything related EMBA, or has any comments or thoughts about it?  Care to share?  Thanks in advance!

没有仔细比较过，但是印象里EMBA应该是需要雇主sponsor的。如果我有雇主sponsor, 而且也能申请到好学校的话，我会选择读EMBA而不是MBA。

EMBA will help u if you want to continue ur today's career path, but not a whole lot if you want to switch from, say, IT to IB.

you also need to balance your work, life, and study. it is not easy.

if you want people's suggestion, it would be better to provide more of your ackground info etc., otherwise it is really hard for the others to make any meaningful comments.

usually EMBA requires only employer sponsorship in the sense of time and schedule, but not necessary money.

I had a manager from Harvard EMBA. I do not have much interaction with her, but from her speech, I think she need to prove her english dramatically --- she can not speak a complete English sentence.

Does she represent the whole EMBA class at Harvard? I doubted but I'd never thought going to any EMBA class since then.

HBS does not have EMBA program (nor do Stanford, MIT). but they all have executive education programs, which is like a certificate thing, i guess this is what you were referring to? quite many executives from FT500 companies go there.

however i probably will not judge your manager's capability just by looking at her english? otherwise why is she ur manager, but not the other way around? ) just kidding. you must know much better than i do since you interact with her all the time.

其实现在也没什么正式工作，G和T也凑合，申请EMBA主要是觉得刚来美国两年，还想有机会在瞎倒腾点什么，FULL TIME就没时间了。而且因家庭的关系，毕业后还是要留在AUSTIN,EMBA的ADVISARY BOARD成员大多是当地大公司，LOCAL NETWORKING强一些。但EMBA要贵一些。学员素质在GMAT成绩上看不比FULL TIME差，平均分不相上下。我觉得没有哪个PROGRAM好坏的问题，看哪个更适合了。
