UNC推荐信有一个问题是Please use the space below to elaborate on the applicant`s qualification? 但是之前已经有问strength，manager potential了，所以这题到底是想问什么呢？

Well they ant an answer exactly to that: What is your potential for being a good manager? Ideally, your recommender will use some examples and stories from your work where he can SHOW that you are in fact a good manager and have potential to be even a better one!
