一道官网上的三空题，求解释

为何第三空不能填G？

webster 对于plausible的解释是negative的 superficially fair, reasonable, or valuable but often specious <a plausible pretext>

这个词一般理解为正向的，之前在新东方上课的时候，为一个类似的词吧，印象中是seemly，看起来怎么样，最后的理由是，看起来是如何我们就按照如何去理解，因为实际情况我们不知道，不知道到底是不是，所以就按表面看来的去理解的，所以这里看似有理的，貌似真实的，在没有特别信息的情况下，还是当做正向的词来理解

第一空，book 的特性是 refreshing
所以第一空说作者不会让 refreshing 这个事实被 politics 破坏，所以第一空情感一定是 -.

第二空
does not permit them
them 指代 politics
所以一二的感情方向相同，都是 -.
于是第一空只能填 overshadow 配合第二空的 obscure

第三空是个重复，并列的。
the enormous gaps in our knowledge 知识的巨大差距
the sparseness of our observations 观察的疏忽
于是找一个负面评价放上去就行了。
plausibility of our hypotheses, 我们假设的合理性
certainty of our entitlement, 我们权利的 certainty(我不知道在这里怎么翻比较好)
superficiality of our theories, 我们的理论的不足(不够深入).

你这里plausibility= possibility? 总觉得plausibility 偏向负。。。算了。。the best is superficiality.

什么。。怎么扯上了 possibility..

plausibility 是合理性，涉及到的是“论证的合理性”“推论的合理性”，是逻辑层面的东西。
possibility 是可能性，涉及到的是“事件发生的可能性”，是概率层面的东西。

俩完全不一样。。

plausibility 的 m-w: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/plausibility

而且不管是 plausibility 还是 possibility, 都是中性的词，没有情感上的正负。

怎么看，都不合适吧。
