B without it their grip on A would nerver be secure.
C their grip on A was not ever secure if they did not hold it
D without that, they could never be secure about their grip on A
E never would their grip on A be secure if they did not hold it

本题用虚拟语气可得出B或E可以，说实话我当初选b有些不太确定。因为其实E语法上也正确，只不过是倒序并且if 和主句没断开而且滞后。但看OG 上说E的it 指代不明，可以指M也可以指A，那么为什么B的it没有这种情况呢？求解it 的指代

我觉得因为B的it指的是stratagy,E 的it可以是their grip也可以是stratgy，总觉得hold it 是想表达个什么意思没搞明白。。
