Young people enjoy life more than older people do.
The last century has witnessed an unprecedented fast pace of development in science and technology, which transformed our life style fundamentally. Computers, smart-phones and other forms of high-tech innovations, which are alien to the old generation, have gradually become an indispensable part of young people’s life. Therefore, the view that young people enjoy life more than older people do is widely held. On the contrary to the opinion, my heartfelt agreement is that older people know more about how to enjoy life than the young despite their limited knowledge of these fashionable devices.
To begin with, it is undeniable that senior citizens take less pressure from work and family than the young ones. With the increasing fierce competition among young peers, especially after financial crisis, many people have to struggle to hunt jobs or work extremely cautious for fear of losing them. A case in the point is that, as a bread-winner of the family, I must work overtime to maintain my job. Thus, I have no time and mood to enjoy life. Indeed, it is not rare in reality that young ones, under great pressure, have little leisure time to spend. Nevertheless, the retired people with monthly payments from the government experience less living stress. It follows that they can afford much time in playing chess or doing whatever they like. In this sense, we can assume that old people enjoy life more than the young.
In addition to that, a substantial amount of aged people begin to enjoy their life by travelling around the world, which challenges the traditional view that old generation prefer saving to spending. Both long and short journeys expand one’s horizon, cultivate tastes and bring sheer happiness. Travelling is no longer a privilege to the young. On the contrary, the young tend to have less time to travel because of their daily engagement in the jobs. From this perspective, we can no longer presume life is less enjoyable among the old.
Another equally important point is that old people have experienced much more than the young that they tend to possess peaceful minds and tolerate to those who hold different views. Having lived through hard times, their necessities are not high and can be easily satiated. On the contrary, anger tends to be easily provoked among the young. It is not uncommon to pass by a couple of young people arguing fiercely against each other. Content with what life currently is and tolerant to different opinions, the old generally lead a more happy life.
Admittedly, young people have unsurpassed advantages including maneuvering high-tech instruments, such as computers or smart-phones skillfully and adapting quickly with changing environment, but on no account can these edges contribute to an enjoyable life. On the contrary, these fashionable devices introduce more pressure to the young by pushing them to keep up with new innovations. Consequently, most young people cannot enjoy a relatively content life.
From the above analysis, we can safely arrive at the conclusion that older people enjoy life more than young people because of their less load of pressure, tendency to travel more and tolerant hearts. |
